The Tailoring Training and Sewing Machine Support Program by Achchhe Padosi (Good Neighbors Bharat) aimed to empower women from underprivileged backgrounds by equipping them with practical skills to improve their livelihoods and promote self-reliance. This three-month program provided hands-on training in stitching and basic designing, focusing on skills that are in high demand within the community. The initiative positively impacted 25 women and delivered meaningful benefits to the wider community. Prior to the program, residents often had to travel long distances to access tailoring services. With trained women now offering affordable tailoring services locally, the program has improved accessibility, reduced travel burdens, and strengthened community-based livelihoods.
