People Exercise the Right to Health

Good health is essential for children to survive, learn, and reach their full potential. Good Neighbors Bharat works with children, adolescents, families, schools, communities, healthcare providers, and government institutions to improve access to quality health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services. Our interventions focus on preventive healthcare, maternal and child health, adolescent health, nutrition, menstrual hygiene management (MHM), and community awareness. By strengthening community health systems and promoting healthy behaviours, we contribute to healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

Objective

To improve the health and well-being of children, adolescents, women, and vulnerable communities by promoting equitable access to quality health services, better nutrition, safe water, sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health management through community participation and strengthened health systems.

Key Focus Areas

  • Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health: Promote preventive healthcare, immunization, maternal and child health, reproductive health awareness, and access to essential health services.
  • Nutrition: Improve nutrition knowledge and practices for children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women, and caregivers to reduce malnutrition and support healthy growth and development.
  • Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH): Improve access to safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene practices in schools and communities.
  • Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM): Promote menstrual health awareness, reduce stigma, improve access to menstrual hygiene materials, and establish girlfriendly facilities in schools and communities.
  • Community Health Systems Strengthening: Build the capacity of frontline health workers, schools, health facilities, and community institutions while strengthening partnerships with government health services for sustainable healthcare delivery.
