On 20th December 2024, Achchhe Padosi (Good Neighbors India), in collaboration with Bharti Eye Hospital, organized a free eye check-up camp at SVBP School. The camp was conducted with the primary objective of providing essential eye health screenings for students, teaching staff, and support staff. The focus was on identifying refractive errors and other common eye-related conditions among participants. In addition, the initiative aimed to mobilize support for children in need of vision correction, particularly those affected by refractive errors.
The free eye check-up camp was organized with the following key objectives:
Eye Health Screening:
To provide free and comprehensive eye examinations for students, teachers, and staff of SVBP School, with a focus on detecting common eye conditions, especially refractive errors such as near-sightedness, far-sightedness, and astigmatism.
Raising Awareness:
To increase awareness about the importance of eye health and early identification of vision problems, particularly among children, where undiagnosed refractive errors can negatively impact learning and development.
Support for Children with Refractive Errors:
To mobilize resources and support for providing corrective eye care, including eyeglasses, to children who require them and are unable to afford treatment, helping prevent academic challenges caused by poor vision.
Community Engagement:
To actively engage the school community—teachers, helpers, and parents—in promoting eye health and encouraging participation in preventive eye care initiatives.
